If you would like to know there will definitely be a table waiting for you here at the Tearooms when you arrive, it is worth booking a table to avoid dissappointment, as some lunchtimes/tea times all our tables can be taken, including the sofas too occasionally. Some of our customers have favourite tables and request specific table numbers and you are welcome to do the same!
If there are more than 6 in your group, it is always advisable to book in advance so that we can reserve the right neighbouring tables to create your large one. There are more details below for specific events and Large Group Bookings, and a copy of our current Menu Here.

The Tally Ho Tearooms is ideal as a meeting place for larger groups to enjoy the delights of Home cooked food.
Our spacious Tearooms is a flexible space and can accommodate seated groups up to 40 (during normal opening hours leaving space for our other customers!).*
We regularly welcome groups of 15-25 people, (such as various WI's and craft groups) for lunch or afternoon tea and offer pre-set menu options for such occasions.
We have also catered for larger groups of 36-40 with our Buffet Victorian Tea as a self service finger buffet or served at the tables.
All Groups who have booked our Buffet Victorian Tea (seated), are greeted by tables already laid with our beautiful china. They are served with tea and coffee on arrival and then their selection of sandwiches is served. When the guests are ready our home made scones, laden with clotted cream and strawberry jam are presented, along with our home made chocolate and lemon drizzle sponges.

Of course, you may wish to choose the Full Victorian Tea per person or just the Traditional Cream Tea option or something else from the menu and for groups of 12 or more we require a list of your guests' choices a week in advance where possible. These items cannot be discounted. Please feel free to ask us for any specific requirements.
We also accommodate Wakes for up to 40 people on a self-service finger buffet basis.
* For special evening bookings we can accommodate more than 40 as these events are catered for by way of a self-service finger buffet.
Our Pre-set Buffet Victorian Tea Menu is Here and has proved most popular with larger groups as, being prepared for your arrival means that you can relax and won't have to organise everyone as to what they may or may not have pre-ordered.
Having said that, we do cater for some special diets, offering diabetic/slimming options, along with gluten free ones too, and with these are pre-ordered all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the company of those around you... we take care of the rest.
We are always happy to wrap/box-up any left overs that you or your guests may wish to take home.
We have catered for many Birthday Celebrations here with tables of 2 to 32, and for a range of ages from 5 to 98!
Some have booked the pre-set menu (and enjoy seeing the lovely china ready fot them on the tables) and others have chosen from our standard menu (as above). Again, please feel free to ask for anything specific, we like to be as flexible as we can and try to accommodate people's specific requirements.

Birthday and other Celebration Cakes
We offer a choice of Celebration Cakes, freshly made here at the Tearooms. Bespoke decoration is an optional extra*
Standard Victoria Sponge (8 inch diameter) with jam filling and frosted with buttercream
Serves approximately 8-12 - £14.00
Standard Chocolate Sponge (8 inch diameter) filled and frosted with chocolate buttercream
Serves approximately 8-12 - £17.00
3 Layer Mini Tower Cake (6 inch diameter), with jam and buttercream filling and frosted with buttercream

We can also provide a display of iced Cupcakes with prices starting from £18.00 for 12.
For something different...
Our Coloured Sponge Tower Cake! - A Tall, Four tiered (6inch diameter) vanilla sponge with layers of buttercream and jam and covered in buttercream. Once sliced, you can see the delightful shades of pink sponge within. Lightly decorated similar to that pictured right.

* For hand written Icing (such as Happy Birthday/Anniversary and names, etc) and candles £4.00 extra.
Orders for Birthday Cakes should be made at least a week in advance, but please telephone if within that time, as we may still be able to accommodate you.
Should you merely wish to have a cake for blowing out candles and cutting, etc, you may bring your own, but we ask that the cake is not eaten on the premises. We can repackage it for you, if you provide your own take away boxes/gift bags, etc for your guests.
Surprises to Hide!
If you have surprise gifts, such as flowers or gift wrapped items which you would like to present as a surprise, we are happy to hide these away for you until you 'give us the nod', and the same goes for presenting cakes with lit candles.
Just A Little Something
If it's just a little 'low key' something special you want to provide, we can present your guest's slice of cake or dessert with a single lit candle! And we promise not to sing! Just let us know in advance.
From Us to You
We always have a 'little something' for those celebrating their birthday or any other celebration, whether or not the table is pre-booked, so don't forget to mention to the staff if you have come to the Tearooms to Celebrate something!

Our 2012 Christmas Menu (additional to our usual Menu) will be available to view in October 2012 and bookings for the Christmas Menu specifically, can be taken for Tuesday 11th December onwards.
We can cater for Private Evening Parties (ie out of hours). However, there is limited availability on evening events. We offer a Canape Buffet, a Full Cold Buffet and our Victorian Buffet Tea.

The pre-set menu (mentioned above), set out as a self-service finger buffet has proved successful with the wakes for which we have already catered (up to 40 people).
With the subtle, classical music always playing here at the Tally Ho, the ambience is calm and relaxing, without being sombre. The design of the Tearooms is such that the area set aside for gatherings is slightly separated from the rest of the restaurant area and thus allows for a certain amount of privacy, sometimes needed at such times.
Although the buffet is self service, it is assisted in that we serve the tea and coffee and maintain the serving tables.
We are always happy to wrap/box-up any left overs that you or your guests may wish to take home.
We have a spacious lawned area at the side of the Building facing the road, which is available for 'gatherings' such as Car Clubs, and is also available for hire for certain promotions or private functions.
